UPCOMING BIRTHDAYS or ANNIVERSARIES

Celebrate with Rubies

Ruby is the birthstone for the month of July. It is also the birthstone for the Sun Sign Capricorn. For thousands of years, the ruby has been considered one of the most valuable gemstones on Earth. It has everything a precious stone should have: magnificent colour, excellent hardness and outstanding brilliance. In addition to that, it is an extremely rare gemstone, especially in its finer qualities.

For a long time India was regarded as the ruby's classical country of origin. In the major works of Indian literature, a rich store of knowledge about gemstones has been handed down over a period of more than two thousand years. The Sanskrit word for ruby is 'ratnaraj', which means something like 'king of the gemstones'.

Folklore, Legend and Healing Properties

Ruby is a dynamic stone said to promote enthusiasm, vigour and passion for life. It is also believed to encourage a courageous and positive state of mind, to promote dynamic leadership, to increase motivation and to help overcome exhaustion and lethargy.

Ruby is believed to encourage positive dreams and clear visualization, to give strength in times of conflict and to protect against psychic attack. It is also said to sharpen the mind, increase awareness and improve concentration.

In healing Ruby is thought to be extremely beneficial for the heart and the circulatory system. It is also believed to detoxify the body and to stimulate the kidneys, reproductive organs and the spleen.

In the Middle Ages Ruby was viewed as a stone of prophesy and was said to darken when danger was near.

Speak The Language Of Colour & See What It Says About You

If you thought your mobile phone was the best communication tool you have, think again. The colours you surround yourself with possess high levels of energy frequency and strong vibrations that can change actions and cause reactions, set moods and alter states of mind.

Throughout history, colours have been used to communicate messages, symbolize personality traits and open our chakras to inspire healthy wellbeing.  In ancient Egypt people bathed in pigments or ingested ground-up gems to heal, uplift, balance and attract.  Luckily all we need to do is wear the colours that make us feel good.

Perhaps the best messengers of colour communication are gemstones; since they are created by nature we have historically felt a primal link to their energy.  Belief in gem powers has survived for nearly 5,000 years and with the vast array of gems to choose from; they provide us with many ways to illuminate our personal aura and express our individual spirit.

Colours are intimately tied to all aspects of our lives and they solicit feelings and stimulate our senses.  Our response to it is primitive, often more emotional than intellectual.  Colour choices are very personal and the colours we gravitate toward speak volumes of how we see ourselves and how others view us.

What does your favourite colour say about you? Which gems are the perfect ambassadors to represent your colourful traits?

The colour red is associated with fire, heat, and blood. Red communicates vitality, power, warmth, and all consciousness of love. If red gets your blood pumping at first sight, you are exciting, animated, passionate, confident, courageous, assertive, and impulsive. A real extrovert, you love to command attention and experience life to its fullest.

A universally favourite colour, blue is cool and calming. It inspires wisdom and clarity. If you are a true blue lover, you are loyal, affectionate, caring, encouraging, and resourceful. Both trusting and in need of being trusted, strong attachments are important. Generally conservative, you are reliable and if your preference is vibrant blue you're likely to be a bit outgoing.
